Getting
Started
Running Application for
the first time:
After downloading and installing software double click on
icon ApplicationName.xls on your desktop. If you can not find this
icon on your desktop locate the application in Program
Menu under the topic "SPIDER Trade Processing".
Confirm message “Enable Macros”. If macros message does not
appear on your screen do following: from Excel Menu go to <Tools>
– <Macro> – <Security…> and set Security Level
to “Medium”.
Now we have good news for you: starting from
this point you have

Starting Application with quotes online capabilities:
1. Install API software from InteractiveBrokers (IB). To
get API software
click
here.
2. Start IB Trader Workstation, Standalone or Browser Based version.
To get IB trading software

here. Make sure you have turned
on API configuration:
<Configure> – <API> – <Enable ActiveX and Socket
Clients>
2. Start ApplicationName.xls file.
- Confirm message “Enable Macros”. If macros
message does not appear on your screen do following: from Excel Menu go to
<Tools>
– <Macro> – <Security> and set Security Level to
“Medium”.
- Confirm “Update” links to other data sources
if one appeared on your screen.
3. After successfully starting SPIDER
Application make sure on "Control"
page you have the same Socket Port running on IB Trader
Workstation (default value is 7496). If you are running
different SPIDER applications or use many instances the same
application make sure Connection ID's are different.
4. From Excel Menu Save the application file and
next time it will be ready to work for you getting quotes
from IB Trader Workstation.
FYI:
If working with application when it performs scanning or long
time calculations you will break Excel processing by pressing Esc
(Escape key) or for any reason you will have Visual Basic
Error message like missing object etc. you must restart SPIDER
application by pressing “Re-Start” button on “Control”
page.
Getting License:
After loading application it will prompt you to register
every 30 minutes.
Click on the button “Subscribe” located on
"Control" page or "Working Authorization Window", fill out registration
form and submit it to us by clicking on “Request
License
Key”. Application will transmit registration form to
us. If you are experienced difficulties sending that email
please send us your request file to the address shown on your
“Thank you” form or use request file submission
form located here.
You will find request file in the root directory of drive
C:\
The name of request file will be:
ApplicationName_YourFirstName_YourLastName.req
After sending us request file, please choose subscription
plan on Products page and make a payment.
Please allow us 24 hours to process your registration form.
We will send you
back Secured License-Key to work with SPIDER application as
soon as we received your payment.
The name of file with
Secured License-Key will be:
ApplicationName_YourFirstName_YourLastName.key
Please put this file in the root directory of drive C:
(same place where you sent from request file) and it's ready to work.
